If you have or have not been to Walt Disney World, then visit Walt Disney World is the site for you. As you read on you will find exciting information about the Walt Disney World resort, from which resorts will fit your needs to what time of the year is the best time to visit the resort area.

Now I know what you are probably asking is a Disney vacation right for us? Well as you read on we will hopefully be able to help you with your own question. Whether you are a family with children or a couple just looking to get away, Disney World has something that will fit your desirable vacation. From their relaxing themed resorts to fine dining experience you will not be disappointed in any decision you make.

Disney World is made up of 4 theme parks. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The 1st park opened in Disney World was Magic Kingdom it is home to such attractions like Splash Mountain, Space Mountain and the ever popular Pirates of the Caribbean. Along with it’s daily live shows and parades ( weather permitting ) this is a sure hit for the young ones. The 2nd park opened was Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow or what is now known as Epcot. Epcot boasts more educational themed attractions like Spaceship Earth and The living Seas. Not to worry Epcot has it’s share of thrill rides too with Test Track and Mission Space. Not exactly your speed then you can slow down by traveling the world in The World Showcase, visit countries like Mexico, France, Germany and many more. Stop and have dinner or grab a beverage and continue traveling the world. The 3rd park added to the Disney world area was Disney’s Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM Hollywood Studios ). This park is a movie buffs dream, from a backlot tour to live stage shows like Indiana Jones and Beauty and the Beast. With it’s street performers and old Hollywood feel, along with it’s own not to miss attractions like Aerosmith’s Rockin’ Roller Coaster and Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror. It will be impossible to remove your buff from here, that’s alright there’s still the popular night show Fantasmic which mixes water, fire, laser lights, fireworks and your favorite Disney characters is a not to miss. ( Again this is a weather permitting event ) The 4th and final park ( so far ) is Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This park hosts many different species of animals to keep you always on the look out for them. Whether your walking along the trails throughout the park or on the Kilamanjaro Safari you’ll be sure to see animals you would never have an opportunity to. If your lucky you may even find a Yeti on Expedition Everest or go back in time on Dinosuar. Visit the Tree of Life and hang out for a tutorial from Flick and his friends in it’s Tough to be a bug.

For the fish in the family Disney also has two water parks Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Both will help keep you cool in the hot summer heat. Blizzard Beach is home to one of the tallest water slides. The wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon will be sure to knock you off your feet literally.

Walt Disney World is home to over two dozen resorts and over 25,000 rooms on Disney Property. During your stay at one of these unique resorts you will be entitled to certain perks of the Disney ‘magic’. Some of the inclusions are transportation to and from the Orlando Int. airport via Disney’s Magical Express. Transportation around the Walt Disney World complex via monorail, bus, boat. So staying in the ‘World’ is easy and stress free. Also you can take advantage of Extra Magic Hours or EMH for short. This is when a select park is opened earlier or closed later just for guests staying in a resort on property. Each Disney resort is specifically themed from sports to a carribean island theme. They are 4 levels of resorts they are as followed:

Value: Affordable. Great for 1st timers with kids. Considering most of your time will be in the parks. Moderate: Mid priced. Great for honeymooners, couples visiting without kids. Families with older children. Themeing less brighter and less bold more subtle. Deluxe: Pricey. These resorts have bigger rooms. Nicer themed pools. Most have nicer restaurants. Deluxe Villas: Very Pricey. Villas are studios, 1 or 2 bedrooms with full kitchens, washer dryer, living room, larger bathrooms. Great for large families or ones who rather enjoy some time away from home with all the amenities of home.

Now on to one of the most debated decisions on planning a Disney Vacation, when to go. This pretty much up to the individuals. For example do you mind the hot weather, or do you want low crowd volumes. Now from our past visits ourselves timing is everything but it doesn’t mean it is always the right call. Normally weather in late Sept. to approx mid Nov. is the most doable. Meaning mid 70 to 80 degree days. Mostly always sunny with little rain. Well last year the temp aver. out at 92 degrees. for 14 days. See what I mean just because you expect one thing doesn’t mean you will get it. O.K. anyway Jan. – mid Feb. cooler temps, park and hotel crowds low – mod occupancy. Mid-Feb. – mid May warming trend on the temps, park and hotel crowds will vary from moderate to high. Due to spring breaks teacher conferences and Easter holiday. May – Sept. warm to hot temps. Crowds in parks and hotels will be high at this time of year. If you plan on staying this time of year plan ahead and book early. Sept. – Jan. this time of the year is when we like to visit. Out of our 9 visits so far we have found temps to be tolerable along with the park and hotel crowd levels. But this time of year there many events happening around certain parks which will impact hotel and park levels. See my updated blogs for up to date info. If you are able to go late Sept. – mid Nov. that would be my choice. You will have a better time with the favorable weather along with all the extra events around that time.
