Dallas Cowboys’ New Stadium Rocks!

Dallas Cowboys’ New Stadium Rocks!

Whether you’re a Dallas Cowboys fan, just a spectator or even an opponent, you have to appreciate the plans and layout for the new stadium the Cowboys will hopefully have completed by February 2011. The new stadium will be the largest domed roof in the world with 660,800 square feet. In keeping with everything being bigger in Texas, seating capacity for Cowboys’ home games will be 80,000 up to 100,000 if the end zone is filled also. Of course, everything about the stadium seems to have the bigger attitude. The square footage in total will be 2.3 million. That’s large enough to fit the Statue of Liberty inside!

A retractable roof will have an opening measuring 410 feet long by 256 feet wide. In approximately 12 minutes, powered by enough horsepower to move mountains, the retractable roof can open or close, leaving no possibility for a rained out game every again. For those who enjoy the suite life at the games, there are 200 suites planned for five different levels and in eight different locations. Sidelines will hold field-level suites for those who like to get up close and personal with the game and proverbially feel the sweat fly. And for those who enjoy the Hall of Fame level suites, in the new stadium, they’ll have the pleasure of being only 20 rows from the field; there are no closer suits in the entire NFL.

If the retractable roof sets your eyes to glowing, you’ll also love the glass retractable door for the end zones. Also to boast of being world’s biggest, the retractable glass doors will measure 180 feet wide by 120 feet high and consist of a five-leaf clear glass; certainly a site that all who visit the stadium will appreciate beholding. The fantastic retractable roof will be supported by two arches that are 15 feet wide and 35 feet deep trusses. With each truss stretching 1,290 feet, they will be…you guessed it, the longest clear-span structure in the world!

With construction already started in Arlington, the Cowboys’ new stadium will be accessible from 14 different major highways and thanks to $270 million in funding to the Arlington Entertainment District, the new stadium will be reachable on roads that are new and improved as well. Reversible bathrooms to suit the needs of events along with 286 concession locations will be a part of the new stadium’s design.

The new stadium has sparked such interest that live construction cams detail the construction as it is happening now. Virtual pictures of the completed stadium are none short of splendid and breathtaking. The sheer volume of size and capacity of the new stadium promises many enjoyable gaming occasions for fans and players alike. None the least of which will be video game boards, eight in total with the major group of four boards measuring 180 feet in length and 50 feet in height and stretching from the 20-yard line to the other 20-yard line.
